From Form to Functionality
LSG Sky Chefs, a world leader in airline catering, required an extensive renovation of its full-service flight kitchen at Tampa International Airport. The complete overhaul of the 30,000-square-foot building where in-flight meals are prepared and packaged had very specific requirements for hygiene standards and various levels of cold food storage. D-Mar and its partner, Design Styles Architecture, collaborated on this design/build project to provide an integrated approach that could seamlessly pivot to adapt to mid-project changes while staying on time and on budget.
D-Mar leveraged ingenuity and expertise to maximize LSG’s footprint, resulting in an additional 5,000-square-feet of usable space.
Challenges Met, Expectations Exceeded
D-Mar managed the entire design/build strategy to meet LSG’s needs for a fully-functioning commercial kitchen that accommodates cooking, packaging, and storing products to serve multiple airline clients. The wide-ranging scope comprised project design, 25,000 square feet of interior demolition, and new interior and exterior construction, including 14,000 square feet of cooler/freezer spaces and a 6,200-square-foot addition to LSG’s office and cafeteria facilities. D-Mar leveraged ingenuity and expertise to maximize LSG’s footprint, resulting in an additional 5,000-square-feet of usable space.
